Her debut role came in Down Twisted. She gained fame for playing one of her biggest roles in Scream. It was extremely successful commercially, and made around 11 times its budget. Critics also liked it. In all three sequels it was her turn to reprise the character. She reached new heights of popularity after playing a major role in Friends, a popular sitcom. The actress received numerous awards and nominations for her performance. The show, which became an instant hit, was aired on television for 10 years. She has also played in the role of supporting in the movie Mothers and Daughters. Her awards includes her the TV Guide Award, which she won for her work on Friends. Another award was the Golden Derby Award that she won for her performance in Cougar Town.
