Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin, a Canadian-New Zealander actress. Born in Winnipeg and raised in Wellington Paquin was able to make her acting debut portraying Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano for which she won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress aged 11 years old, and was the 2nd youngest recipient of the award in Oscar history. Anna Paquin full name Anna Helene Paquin was born on July 24 in 1982 Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. Canadian-born New Zealand actor who won the Academy Award as a youngster for Best Supporting Actress for acting as the bright and interesting girl who played Holly Hunter's main character in The Piano. After responding to a call for open auditions when she was nine, and with little prior experience acting when she was selected for the role of Flora McGrath role. Flora was the daughter of the Scottish musician who was blind. The couple were relocated to New Zealand during the middle of the nineteenth century to arrange a marriage. When she was a teenager, her family moved from Canadian to United States. Paquin had the role of lead in the film Fly Away Home in 1996 as well as a brief appearance in the film as Jane Eyre when she was only a child. Paquin played a minor role in the TV film of 1997 adaption of Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding. The actress also played the Queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (2007). She played teens as teens in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (1998), A Walk on the Moon (1998) as well as Almost Famous (2000). Also, she played the character of Polexia Aphrodisa.
