Emily Bett Rickards is a Canadian born actress. Her fame was primarily in the United States for her performance as Felicity Smoak on The CW series Arrow. Rickards was raised within British Columbia. Her career began at a young age, she introduced herself to dancing and musical theatre with the hope of later becoming more involved in acting. Her high school graduation was earlier than expected and studied at Vancouver Film School where she received her Acting Essentials Certificate. The audition was an open call following the completion of the program. The audition was the catalyst for her getting accepted with an agent. Alida Vocal Studio taught her. Her chemistry between her and Stephen Amell, positive feedback from the fans, and her humorous remarks earned her being initially signed for a single episode guest star. But, because of the enthusiastic reaction from the fans she received, she was then signed to be a regular character for Season 2.
